Turkey pinwheel pops and Nutella jar salad
This recipe was sent to us by Helen, one of our online blogger mums. Her challenge was to cook a kids picnic meal using turkey for for under £10.

What we thought:
This is great fun food which can be enjoyed at home if it's too wet for a picnic! 
Essential Ingredient:
Turkey Breast Fillets
200g self raising flour

1 tbsp olive oil

100ml milk (approx)

250g turkey breast fillet

50g sun dried tomato pesto

80g grated mozzarella

16 wooden lollipop sticks (or coffee stirrers)

To serve:
Serve with your picnic favourites.
These novelty turkey recipes are simple to prep and pack on a picnic.
  1. Mix together the flour, oil & milk until it forms a dough - get your hands stuck in & add more milk if it is too dry
  2. Knead for a couple of minutes and roll out on a floured surface into a rectangle approx 35cm x 25cm
  3. Lay the turkey between sheets of clingfilm and flatten with a rolling pin
  4. Spread the pesto evenly over the rolled out dough
  5. Lay the thin slices of turkey over the pesto
  6. Roll up tightly along the longest length towards you
  7. Using a sharp knife slice into 16 equal pieces (approx 2cm each) - you may need to cut the ends off first
  8. Push a stick through the pinwheel & lay on a greased/lined baking sheet
  9. Cover each pinwheel with mozzarella
  10. Bake in a preheated 200 C oven for approx 15-18 minutes
